Dr. Praveen Saxena is the Chief Executive Officer of the newly formed Skill Council for Green Jobs (Skill India Mission) by Ministry of Skill development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India. He has been entrusted with the responsibility of building 15 Lakh skilled work-force by 2020 through the skill council for green jobs – A relatively new set-up which is being talked about as the next big thing in the skill India mission.

A scientist by qualification and an administrator by profession, Dr. Saxena is a Gold medallist in M.Sc and has a doctorate degree in Physics from University of Delhi. During his illustrious career spanning over 35 years, Dr.Saxena, as a bureaucrat and Diplomat of the country, has played versatile roles and has taken challenging responsibilities. His forte includes Research and Development, policy formulation, planning and coordination, bilateral and multilateral collaborations, and corporate sector participation.

Through his visionary leadership, innovative mindset and pragmatic approach, Dr.Saxena has steered a number of organizations within the country which has given tremendous fillip to the renewable energy sector. He has been at the helm of affairs at the National Institute of Renewable Energy (NIRE). As Director General in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, he has been instrumental in the setting up of National institute of solar energy as a pioneer institute of solar energy in the country. He is rightly termed as the ‘Architect of Small Hydro’ in India, whose installed capacity has increased 30 times under his direction.

Dr (Mrs) Parveen Dhamija is currently working as Advisor in Skill Council for Green Jobs, New Delhi and is promoting skill development in various sectors of Renewable Energy and Environment Sustainability linked to Afforestation, Green Construction, Green Transportation, Solid Waste and Water Waste Management etc.

She retired as Scientist ‘G’ / Advisor from Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in February 2016 after serving for about three decades. She has worked in planning and executing national level activities related to development and deployment of different renewable energy technologies She was coordinating National Programmes of Biogas, Improved Chulhas, Women and Renewable Energy Development Village Energy Security through biomass and was development and promotion of new technologies like Fuel Cells Hydrogen energy, Battery Operated Vehicles, Geothermal Energy and Tidal Energy.

She was also Head of the State Nodal Agency and State Designated Agency for Government of Delhi (March 2010 – Jan. 2012) and was instrumental in the preparation of policies for Solar Rooftop PV, LED lightings, Carbon Neutral City for development of projects like NDMC area as Solar City, setting up of Off-grid PV systems on the rooftops of Delhi Secretariat and Vikas Bhawan II and for upgradation of biogas from STPs to CNG for use in transport sector.

She has co-authored books on Environmental Education and as an IPCC expert was Lead Author for the Chapter of Bio-Energy for the Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation prepared by IPCC released in May 2011.

Mr. Anand Kumar is presently a Consultant, Energy, Research & Education. He has been a former Director (R&D) at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and Director, Petrotech.) Ltd, amongst ,. He has to his credit over 40 years of rich and varied experience in all facets of downstream Oil Industry, oil refining, Refinery Planning, Economics, Human Resource Development, Institution Building, Research & Development, education, institution building g, development and turnaround of institutions and refineries, research organizations in the downstream oil industry.

He is a BE (Chemical Engineering) and Fellow (AIChE ) and Fellow (AIMA). He introduced and implemented ISO 9000, 14000, 19900 series of standards in refineries of Mathura and Barauni. He has co-authored and published about 50 research papers . He has to his credit the Lifetime Achievement Award in Oil Refining : MAEER MIT Pune and Lifetime Achievement Award ISAS (Indian Society of Analytical Scientists)

Dr. Parag Diwan has completed his degree in Chemical Engineering from Punjab University and pursued his Masters in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University USA. He completed his Doctorate in Business Administration from Punjab University.

AIMA-Centre for Management Services (CMS) was Dr. Diwan’s brainchild where as Director, he launched innovative management services, including student admission (MAT) and corporate recruitment tests (CoRT), marketing and promotion services, material resource services, accreditation of business schools and management teachers and so forth.

In 2001, Dr. Diwan became the youngest Vice Chancellor in the country, by becoming the founder Vice Chancellor of University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, (UPES) India. India’s first ever domain focused University providing cutting-edge education and research in Oil, Gas, Power and larger transportation sector, under his dynamic and creative guidance, UPES has emerged as the largest creator of talent for the energy sector. Post his 15 years long stint at UPES, he has been involved in last couple of years with Laureate International Universities to establish undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Energy, Infrastructure and Transportation (EIT) sector, in their Universities in Mexico, Malaysia, Cyprus and Turkey. Dr. Diwan has won several individual and institutional awards for outstanding contributions in the field of education and he was also awarded prestigious HP fellowship for his work in the field of online education. Dr. Diwan remains a young, creative, innovative and forward thinking force in education as a whole and in the energy sector in particular.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain presently holds a position as a Technical Expert, United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO IC-ISID). He was the Former Director at Central Pulp & Paper Research Institute, Saharanpur (DIPP, GOI) and Former Director, National Handmade Paper Institute , Jaipur (MSME. GOI) .

Dr. Jain completed his M.Sc in Chemistry from Meerut University in 1977 and his D.Phil in Chemistry from Forest Research Institute & Colleges, Dehradun, Garhwal University.

He has more than 35 years’ experience in Research & Development and technology development, along with academia, and industry. He has 118 published research papers in reputed national/international Journals to his credit. He is also an Expert Member on Committees – Government and non government organizations. Winner of the N.N.Mohan Memorial award for an outstanding research  for   the year 1984 in the field of Solid Waste Management from Fruit Processing Industry. He has also held the office of Editor In-chief of Journal of Indian Pulp & Paper Technical Association (IPPTA) and Editor-in-Chief of the quarterly News Bulletin of CPPRI.

Dr. L. M. Das is currently Emeritus Professor at the Centre for Energy Studies, IIT Delhi. He has a basic Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering and his doctoral thesis relates to development of hydrogen engine.

Dr Das has got a teaching/research experience of close to forty years to his credit. His primary areas of research interest include development of alternative-fuelled low emission engines/vehicles. Dr Das has published more than 85 research papers in various international and national journals.

Dr. Das has had a close international research interaction. He has been a member of several research/technical and scientific committees of Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Indian Institute of Petroleum, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Departmnet of Biotechnology, Indian Oil Research Lab and a host of other organizations. Dr Das was a Member of the CAR (Core group of Automotive Research) of the Govt of India. Presently Dr Das happens to be a member of the Expert Committee for Auto Fuel Vision and Policy 2025.

He has been awarded “Rajiv Gandhi Samman” by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Orissa for Achievements and contributions in the field of Non-conventional Energy Sources in 2005. In 2012, he has been a winner at the “Innovators Competition” for DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Programme. Dr Das has had several consultancy/projects sponsored by UNIDO, General Motors (USA), European Union, Shell, MNRE, and DST.
